Dear Friend,
How’s Your Computer? Still working good? When you first got it you
were bragging way too much. Now – not so fast, is it?
You, my friend, have succumbed to what I refer to as the
computomobile syndrome. Computomobile is not a real word, it’s
simply a term I use to describe a characteristic. It is derived from
the words “Computer” and “Automobile”.
You see, just like your Computer, an Automobile, when it’s new it
runs perfectly. In the beginning, you absolutely love It. It’s fast,
reliable, with no problems. Well, as you know, that inevitably over
time this changes. Your car begins to break down, and you go from
loving to hating your automobile.
This is the same effect with your Computer. In the beginning, you
love your computer. It runs fast and no problems. But then,
inevitably your computer starts to slow down and errors begin to
occur…
Think About The Last Time You Experienced a Computer Problem ...
… Was It Sudden and Unexpected? Did it Happen At The Worst Possible
Time?
As a busy society, we tend to live in the moment---on the fly. While
this may work fine for some situations, it is a terrible approach to
keeping your Computer Healthy and at Top Speed.
|
"Jason,
Do you have any idea how amazing you are? I have no errors,
everything runs smoothly and FAST, and I now love my computer
for the very first time. I've never had a computer like this.
Wow! Wow! Wow!..."
Thanks again.

Did You Know That The
Average Total Cost of Owning a Computer is $4,000!
Sound Absurd? It did
to me the first time I heard it. First, let me explain what Total
Cost of Ownership is….Total Cost Of Ownership is how much it
actually costs to own a PC. The TCO includes: Original cost of the
computer and software, Hardware and software upgrades, and Technical
support and repair. So The TCO is how much you will pay from the
time of purchase to the time you no longer own the computer.
According to a July
2000 news release by the NASA Langley Research Center, which
conducted extensive research on total cost of ownership*, the
initial cost of a single computer only accounts for 20% of the total
cost of ownership*. Upgrades & Software account for 30% and Repair
and Indirect expenses account for the other 50% of the total cost!
The Cost of
Computer Repair Has Skyrocketed to Triple What It Cost 3 Years Ago
The days where you
could get your computer repaired for $40 are over. With the huge
surge in viruses, worms, and spyware, retailers who offer computer
repair have raised their prices A LOT.
The lowest price I
was able to find at the time of this writing was $99.99, and that
only included a basic scan of the system, a print out of what the
scan found and a short analysis. Phone support is also seeing a
spike in prices. Currently, Microsoft charges $35 per all issues
that they deem "basic", for Advanced issues**, they charge $245!
It's easy to see how these costs can mount up..
**Per Microsofts website: Advanced
issues include problems associated with software and hardware
development, network connectivity, server-based technologies, and
mission-critical systems
Easily Speed Up
You Windows XP Computer No Matter What Your Computer Skill Level Is
When writing this
book, one of my top concerns was that it would be easy to follow and
understand for people of all skill levels. To Accomplish this, I
used the step-by-step, instruction manual format and took it a step
further and included a full color illustration for Each Step. Each
Step is also written with the “assume the reader knows nothing”
approach. When it comes to education and showing a person something
new, I strongly feel that this is the best method.
WINDOWS XP
POWERUPS total number of pictures topped out at a whopping 250
pictures. So whether you are a beginner or and advanced user, I can
assure you that you will have no trouble following any of the
Powerup tips included in WINDOWS XP POWERUPS.

"I wanted to write to you to let you
know how much your book has helped me. I'm 62 years old
and have always been intimidated by computers.
Two Years ago my daughter bought me a computer for Christmas.
When I first got the computer, it ran great but after a year,
the computer started having problems. I have a grandson that
knows a little about computers but my grandson lives 1 hour
away, so I only would ask him for help during holidays when he
was at my house for dinner.
After awhile I finally decided to take a online class to learn
computer basics -- that was when I stumbled onto your book. I
was amazed at how easy it was to understand. Now my
computer is as fast as it was when I got it and most importantly
I have been problem free. Thank you so much."

Have You Ever Said To Yourself:
"I'm Just Not Good with Computers..."
Do You Feel like you are Computer Illiterate? If you trace back to
what initially caused you to feel this way, I’m sure that it was
directly caused by a situation where their was a teacher (the teacher
could be a person, a computer repair book, a instruction manual etc..)
and you and you just were not able to “get it” So you wrote it off as,
just a skill that you are not good at.
I want to reassure you – that the problem wasn’t with you. It was with
the teacher. Learning how to do a new skill can be thought of like
going back to Kindergarten. What if your Kindergarten teacher started
teaching Algebra right off the bat? The natural reaction is to accept
that the teacher is not wrong and that the problem lies with you –
thus leading you to not even try, and fall into the “It’s a skill I’m
just not good at…” mentality. Instead of thinking that, look at how
the teacher is teaching? Are they sensitive to your skill level or are
they using advanced words and/or techniques? .
... If you are saying to yourself,
"But I'm not a
beginner, I know a (Little/A Fair Amount/A Lot) about Computers and
Windows XP"
Windows XP Powerups includes all of the best tips and tricks It
is written with a beginner in mind (Think of it written in a "Windows
XP for Dummies" format...all of the best information is in there but
it's written so that anyone could follow), the book still gets into
more advanced topics (in other words, yes there are advanced topics
and tips but they are written so that a beginner could easily follow).
I wanted to you to have the absolute best tips (and be able to do
them) regardless of whether they are classified as a beginner tip or
advanced.
In Fact, I guarantee that Every Person That Buys WINDOWS XP
POWERUPS will learn something new. There are multiple tips in this
book that I have written or discovered myself (and believe me, before
I would make a statement like that, I have searched the web endlessly
to verify). To protect this, Please note, that if you purchase my book
that you are not authorized to post or share information contained in
my e-book anywhere without receiving direct permission from me
beforehand.

"Excellent Book. I frequent a
lot of the computer help websites that have tips and tricks on
them so I was a bit skeptical that your book would be able to
offer me anything I didn't already know. Boy was I wrong. My
favorite section would have to be the batch files. I now have
those set up in my quick launch bar and use them frequently.
Thanks!"
Sincerely,

Windows XP Powerup # 7:
Reduce number of Fonts and Boot Faster
The
average user only uses a few fonts, to reduce boot time, many
of the fonts can be moved out of the main font folder which
windows loads when you boot your computer.
Note that
you won't be able to access these fonts in any programs (ie.
Word, WordPerfect, Notepad etc.), however should you want them
back all you need to do is simply move the fonts back to their
original location and reboot... (continued)

BUT, I'm to (Insert
any Excuse Here) to start learning anything about computers:
Regardless of whether or not you decide to purchase my book, I would
strongly suggest you try to learn as much as you can about computers.
Why?
Computers are not going away anytime soon. In fact, as we look towards
the future, computers will become more and more an essential part of
our everyday lives. Our children and future generations have the
advantage of having computers incorporated into schools, so they are
able to learn progressively. I’m sure either your kids (or if you
don’t have kids, that you know of a child or children..) who’s
computer abilities, for their age, just blow you away.
In 10 -15 years, those children will be in the job market and will
begin having children of their own, at that time, the computer
technology will be much more advanced and their kids growing up then
will be raised with that technology…. So, where does that leave you?

**NEWLY ADDED
BONUS**
**LIMITED TIME **
FREE - Video Tutorial -
Creating Your Own
QuickLaunch Bar
Most people
will agree that, when it comes to learning anything new, that
the easiest, most effective way to go about it, is to first
visually see it, then you do it.
Amazingly, a
Lot of the Computer "Fix It" books out in the
market today seem to have forgotten that critical point.
Being an experienced tech, I was often asked if I knew of a
book that I could refer... a well written book, with easy to
follow instructions with Screenshots. After a lot of searching
and frustration, I decided to write a book myself, Windows XP
Powerups- Finally a Full Pictoral Step-By-Step Windows XP
Tip/Fix It Book.
So Windows XP Powerups brings,
excuse the cheesey phrase, but it brings it 'up a notch' in
it's effectiveness to the person reading it. The
next "notch", is Video Tutorials. In terms of
Effectiveness, they are the next best thing to learning in a
classroom with a professor/teacher.
So as an added bonus, for a
limited time only (and I DO mean limited time, I am
currently working on a set of video tutorials that I intend on
releasing in Sept and this is one that will be included with
that pack...) I will include, the Video Tutorial For:
Creating Your Own Quick Launch Bar
FREE with your purchase
of Windows XP Powerups.
The Video is in Windows Media
Format, so you can play it on your computer. You can,
pause it fast forward it, rewind it- and it's yours (there is
no time limit restriction or DRM...however, this copy is still
copyright protected, meaning, it's for you, you may not email
this or post this on any website , or distribute it in any way
without getting permission from me)
